The Story

The late 19th century saw the rise of the world’s first garments designed for sporting activities. British tailoring houses began to elevate the classic trouser beyond its old military origins, to an article of clothing committed to both exceptional comfort and sartorial self-expression.

During the 1920’s and post World War era the convergence of function and fashion gave birth to advanced wintersport clothing. Catering to those well-to-do jetsetters and winter sport enthusiasts of the Alps, the proper ski trouser’s slim proportions and natural wool material complexion adhered to the high street fashions of the times.

Traditional and contemporary, with deference to the tailors of winter sport’s past, the Alpine Winter Trouser is designed with a combination of classic tailoring and waterproof protective technologies. A Forged Performance staple of the Gentleman Skier's wardrobe, the Alpine Winter Trouser is a nostalgic ski pant infused with technical attributes delivering maximum comfort, warmth, and durability for winter sport recreation.

"The Alpine Winter Trouser is one tough pair of pants, built to withstand the harshest of conditions the mountains can throw at you."

Excellent pants

Only time will truly tell, but on first impressions, inspection and what is the very beginning of my use of these pants, they very comfortable, warm and I love how they look. Maybe I’ll come back with a more in depth review of these trousers in the spring. Mike Dec. 11, 2023

Ski pants

Sizing is off. I’m a 31 waist, so got the small, but they’re very tight in the inseam. Changed to the next size up (exchange process was very smooth and quick, so top marks there), but the next size up is really loose around the waist.

Quality seems alright but not really aligned with the price point. There is incredibly scratchy, plastic along the inside of the thigh, I’m guessing where the waterproof membrane is sown in to the interior lining. This was evident in the first pair as well, so this is a manufacturing issue rather than quality control with the specific pair. It’s scratches the inside of the thigh when walking and moving. If it continues I’ll probably send back, but I’ve only worn them for two ski days so far so I’ll give them a chance.

Ski Trouser

The trouser is everything you were hoping it would be. I will say pleasantly surprised with the quality. Nothing left to be desired. I skied with them opening weekend at Sugarbush just before thanksgiving. My kids told me I belong in Aspen. They don’t just look great but are built for technical performance with a gortex like liner to keep one dry and not clinging to long johns

Belt Loops Made the Difference

Fabulous service! I was stuck between purchasing a medium or large. Bought the medium as I would rather wear the trousers without the shoulder straps. However the medium waist was a bit too tight and therefore traded them in for a size large. The large size was just a bit big in the waist but I learned that the trouser had belt loops. They fit perfect with a belt! Thanks Nick for guiding me through this process. Emphasizing belt loops solves the problem of in-between waist sizes.
