The Story

Following the end of World War II, the men of the 10th Mountain Division took their sharpened skiing prowess to other endeavors. Having honed their skills at the legendary Camp Hale in Colorado, many veterans would go on to excel in racing and patrolling, as well as go on to establish many of the premier US ski resorts we know to this day.

In celebration of the grit and determination of those who helped to build the American ski industry, the Alps & Meters High West Ski Race Knit sweater combines the racer’s classic crewneck silhouette with a western motif to create a unique version of the classic Fair Isle sweater, honoring the roots of American skiing that can be traced back to the Old West.

Designed by Tradition

A crew-neck sweater ideal for mid-layer wear occasions, or worn as outerwear in warmer weather, the High West Ski Race Knit is a legacy of the time-honored ski sweater. Cut in a handsome crew neck silhouette and knitted from 100% lambswool with a water-repellent coating, this durable sweater is a performance piece inspired by the spirit of skiing's American roots in the West.

Very nice. It was a gift for my daughter's boyfriend. I thought it looked like it might be too big but it fit just fine (maybe a tad on the big side) and he really likes it. It's soft and not scratchy.
